The multimedia artist John Bock is mainly known for his performances and set up environments. Working with drawing, sculpture, film, text and found material, his immersive artworks invite into a manic, excessive theatre world, while juxtaposing music, images and text. Bock’s work has been shown at the Venice Biennale in 1999 and 2005, documenta 11 in 2002, the MoMA in New York and the Kunst-Werke Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin, the Secession in Vienna and at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, amongst others.
