The series is based on a research an Austrian scientist did in the end of the 19th century. He would put spiders under different substances like caffeine, mescalin or LSD in order to see how that would affect the shape of the spiders web and also their activeness. The 8 photogravures depict the spider webs that were made under the influence of the different substances. The edition is part of the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Baltimore Museum of Art, The Kunstmuseum Düsseldorf and the Kunsthalle Hamburg.
