After the Chelyabinsk meteor passed Russia in 2013, Yuri Pattison got interested in the commodification of its fragments on eBay. Thereby not only the market structure, but further following questions regarding authenticity, spirituality and the superstitious quality of these fragments were drawn to his attention.
Thinking about how to materialize this question of supply and demand, Yuri Pattison transferred the images back into objects – as in “chelyabinsk eBay extrutions”– and further holographic prints on iPhone cases.
