Nr. 151, Lotte Rangelbach, Bananentisch (Ein Klassiker der 1990er), 1993
“Lotte Rangelbach changed the concept of the little-known clockwise rotating table of her father considerably. In doing so, she discovers the possibility of packing old qualities in a new guise and thereby giving them a new visibility. Although Rangelbach is referring 100% to Pop Art with the banana, the impression cannot be avoided, that it is a malicious comment on the East Germans and their bananas. These and other distinctive features made the banana table a classic of the 1990s.”
“Nr. 151, Lotte Rangelbach, Bananentisch (Ein Klassiker der 1990er), 1993” is part of Polzin’s fictional design history.
